Hello, I am in my mid 30s have worked for accounting firm for 4+ years and am looking to move for better pay. I interviewed at two places and received an offer from both but now I am confused with decision making. Please help a gal out!!

Offer 1 - another accounting firm with great opportunities, awesome PTO, 17 holidays and 2 weeks off

Offer 2 - industry / private company offering same pay as offer 1 with work life balance with less PTO and hybrid position (3 days in office and 2 wfh)

I would say for offer 1, depends on the size of the firm and if you really want to continue in public a few more years. For offer 2, depends if you want leave public and have that better work life balance.

Those are two very different offers, so think you really need to reflect on what you’re looking for, which only you can personally answer. Best of luck in your decision. These kinds of decisions are so difficult.

Is offer 1 fully remote? Since both offers have the same salary, whichever one has the most office days will have the lower effective pay, due to commuting costs. I would definitely consider that as a factor here as well

like

Only two. I can offer you fully remote at a middle market firm. Top 20 international firm. We have a great culture and great pay and you get to work on teams XLOS. Like audit and TAS.

But their performance has been avg and not seemingly worthy of another large raise within a short period of time. But how do I respond when they talk about personal finances?
