I am a small firm with only one employee. We are very busy most of the time. I give her 2 weeks paid vacation. She is an important part of my team and I want her to stay happy.

My last firm didn’t offer PTO to non-attorneys and only hired office staff on an hourly basis. I’ve heard 2 weeks annually after a certain period of time working there is common though at places that can afford it.

like

Thank you.

None for first 3 months. Accrued 4hrs per bi-monthly pay period = 8 hrs per month

like

Thank you!

Our firm does 10 days vacation PTO in each of the first two years for staff. For the third year, on, staff get 15 days vacation PTO.

This is in addition to 10 days sick time PTO per year, which applies to both attorneys and staff.

All staff are hourly, but realistically, there’s never less than a full week’s worth of hours to do. Staff also get overtime. It’s quite nice!

like

Thank you!

2 weeks vacation plus 5 personal/sick days after 1 year. Increases to 3 weeks vacation after 10 years.

like

Thank you!

We offer staff members 10 days PTO. Plus we pay them a day off paid for their birthday.

like

At least 2 weeks to start. Always remember you get what you pay for 🙂

In new york city minimum wage is $50/hr. You have to give them 12 months PTO and six years paid maternity leave per decade.

You give them breaks?

$12/hr. Live in small town OK. 21 days PTO to use as she wants. Anything more and it's unpaid. I also work in different ways for her to earn more money based on anything extra i may need ie. clean office, collect payments from delinquent clients, i buy her lunch a couple days a week...

If you see an open job posting at a company you want to work for, what steps do you take to apply? I’ve been told that cold applying and making no contacts is usually not going to lead to anything, and that’s been true in my experience. But should I reach out to someone first? Should i apply and then email someone? In HR? Or someone who’d be directly supervising me? Or someone at my level? And what should i say? Thanks!
