Umami in Lawrenceville, Gaucho downtown, stroll through Randyland in Mexican War Streets/Northside, tacos at Las Palmas in Brookline, Maggie’s Farm for rum (it’s rum for people who don’t like yum-seriously delicious), get wings and IC Lights at Stinky’s during a Pens game, go to Bicycle Heaven in Manchester.
Spend a Saturday or Sunday morning in the strip district. Walk into Penn Mac and some other stores that have been there for over 100 years. There are no bad choices.
Get a beer and a sandwich at Primanti Brothers the next time there’s a Penguins game.
Il Pizzaiolo in Market Square (or really any of their locations) and if you're a sweets person I 1000% recommend La Gourmandine. can't go wrong with anything there, but their big raspberry macaron is *chef's kiss*
and for coffee, if you're in the North, don't miss Cafe Conmigo

Also...welcome to Pittsburgh!
I think bicycle heaven is temporarily (hopefully)closed due to flood damage. Check there FB. Also, if Duo's Taqueria is reopened after renovations, they have really good Mexican street style tacos. Like really good.
Also, which city/ies have you lived at ?
Gaúcho downtown is a MUST!
La Palapa on the south side.
Try Dish (Italian) on 17th St on the Southside, serves until 10:30pm even during the week, a rarity in Pittsburgh. The food is great and the space is cool. Smaller. Make a reservation or sit at the bar. Brothers who own it are from Sicily.
Morcilla on Butler St in Lawrenceville is great for Spanish and tapas. Also has a good bar to sit at for dinner, and if you are flying solo some night.
One more… 40 North… coincidentally at 40 North Ave on the North Side… table or bar is great, interesting space, part of Alphabet City / Cities of Asylum space… many staff came over from Ace Hotel after it closed during pandemic…

Depends on what you like! Pittsburgh has so much. I myself love diners - and Bob’s Diner in Carnegie is fantastic.
Hi!!! Welcome to Pittsburgh ❤️❤️ you must do the strip district on a Saturday and Pamela’s for breakfast. We have so much to offer! Station Square has a ton of great places as well take a walk down market square and the point! Have an amazing time here
I’ve lived here my whole life (except for college) and I can’t recommend the burgh food tours enough. Super cool way to see the city and learn some of its history.
Also if you are into bourbon check out the warren and Carmella’s. For beer, literally throw a dart at a map of Pittsburgh and you’re working a 10 minute drive of a microbrewery. Hitchhiker and dancing gnome are top notch. My personal favorite is voodoo. Independent brewing co for all of the above + standout food and hidden harbor for rum. It’s owned by the same people and shares a kitchen. Can’t go wrong there.
Other food options are senti for Italian, scratch for plain awesome, Carson street deli for awesome sandwiches and incredible beer selection, the federal galley is also really cool. I’ve had some fantastic meals at station too.
I’m probably leaving stuff out. This city rules.
