Next week I’m having my first lateral interview as a junior associate. I’m very nervous because the group with whom I’m interviewing works with life science/tech clients and the attorneys have strong science/tech backgrounds; and I do not. However, I am very, very interested in transitioning to this practice. And I reaaally want this job because it’s at my dream firm. How would you recommend preparing for the lateral interview?

A. Typical salary for senior analyst / associate in corp dev at a bulge bracket?

B. Is it worth exiting from big 4 strategy?

C. How does a corp dev role compare at a bank vs other companies? Is it prestigious?

Got a GRE score of 320 (162V 158Q). Did my masters from A&M (full scholarship, 3.8 GPA, journal publications. How do I know Big-Law is not for me?

I am a first year who just started a couple of months ago and I am literally confused all the time. I did some small work for two partners and they loved it, so put me on new deals but the mid levels I am staffed with absolutely hate the work I do. One said the work I did was laughable. I felt bed because I spent over 25 hours on this. I wouldn’t be very bothered but the other Associates in my class are killing it. So I just feel dumb all the time.

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. Hi do you interview from time to time just to check what’s your market worth?

I'm currently on £60k at a start up. Just got offered a job at a games company with a salary of £50k + 15% bonus 😖 I immediately spoke to them and told them that is way below my current salary and they raised to £56k + 15% bonus which would put me on £64.4k total comp. I've said I'll think about it and hope they raise the offer again.
Should I not consider this at all if they don't at least match my base? I have been aiming for £70k-£80k when looking at new jobs
