We do have a San Francisco office and I want to ask my boss to match me what staff are making there. As that’s more comparable. I have an offer from a start-up which I will be joining next week. Even though I got a hike more than 100% ( current tc: 6lpa, new tc:14lpa) and changed to sde role I am still not satisfied. Seeing all those comp posts on leetcode I felt I can be one of them. But now I am feeling left behind and not able to move on. I know I have no dev experience. I'm currently interviewing for a hardware internship (at a startup). I've had a phone interview, a 30 minute technical interview and now I have a 2-3 hour interview. Is it just me or does this seem a little excessive for an internship?

Have an offer from AWS for an L7 Principal PMT role: $215k base + $275k sign on bonus for Year 1 and $215k for year 2 + 5100 RSUs (@ $130 / share). This is the initial offer; where is there room for negotiation? Base or Sign on Bonus or RSUs? I realize it's a good offer, but I'm looking for: $225k base + existing sign on + 5500 RSUs. Does that sound like a decent counter?

For those who have gone through Mck First Round/Final Round - could you talk about how the interview took place? I am a bit worried as it might be hard to connect with the interviewer when the process is not in-person. Did you have a phone call or a Zoom call with video, and did it feel awkward? Had an Excel assessment yesterday as the second to last step in an interview process. I was using a new computer and long story short, had some technical difficulties (or maybe just my own incompetence under stress) and ended up only getting through half of the test. Offering advice to job seekers who go around recruiters and message hiring teams, execs, etc. You are putting the Recruiters job in danger. If a Recruiter declines you or doesn’t choose to reach out, it is because the hiring team declined you, or you don’t have the experience. You will most likely not be considered for future roles because of this. When I see people giving advice to reach outside the Recruiter, it’s bad advice. Very rare is this a good idea.

I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being. I have gone from Rock Star to problem when people "found out". I have trained and promoted hundreds of people and been passed over for promotions because of not being a man. I have trained men with less experience, worse results only for them to move forward. If Diversity is important...prove it!

Hey so like - newfound reason for my procrastination since I got on Ritalin - a tendency towards "putting things off so I can enjoy the hyperfocus later". When I just started taking the meds I was super effective for a few weeks but now my brain seems to be figuring out ways around the drugs 🤦🏻‍♀️ any ideas on how to not fall back into procrastination behaviours?

I ask questions and the ACNO said that I asked great questions. Hey all! I went through the interviewing process with a company and we had a verbal agreement on X amount of salary per year. They liked me and extended an offer but the offer was for $15K less than what we agreed bc that’s what HR approved for. I was desperate so I took it. Accepting this offer meant that I had to relocate to the other side of the country. Omw that was 2500 miles, I received a call that they rescinded the offer. Is there anything legal that I can do to sue them?

Does it matter if you use the same examples for behavioral questions for first and second round interviews?

I started interviewing early Oct with a company that reached out via recruiter. The hiring manager was very straight forward with me that I was his top candidate and I was told all other interviews were very positive incl CMO. The recruiter said they'd be making an offer but it's now been three weeks. Anyone else had the process drag on like this? Meanwhile I'm taking other interviews and was offered a promotion at current company, but was very interested in this one. What would you do?
