La Jolla cove!!
Yea, these responses are pretty funny. Gas lamp is a great location and you want this person to go all the way to La Jolla?
If you want romance, I’d Uber out to Coronado. If you want to just hang... I mean, gas lamp has lots of great spots. Moonshine flats is my go to.
I the farthest I’d go is PAcific beach. That’s the best place to get rowdy.
Sushi Deli 2. Now apparently called just “Sushi 2."
You've got to go to the Kebab Shop. It's amazing

SeaPort Village is always fun to explore
FWIW - I’ll be staying close to the gas lamp neighborhood. Thanks!
La Jolla Cove is awesome but not super convenient if you don't have a car! If you make it up there I would recommend Shorehouse Kitchen nearby as a great brunch spot.
I loved Point Loma and the lighthouse there - beautiful views of the city, especially if you can make it around dusk (although it might close too early in the summer).
Jimmy Carter's Mexican Café is great too. I'm vegetarian as well and had no trouble finding good food.
Thanks guys. Any spots closer to the Gas Lamp area if I don’t rent a car?
If you like beer, there's so many great breweries in SD. Coronado Island was pretty great too
