Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). Seems like hiring has slowed down but i feel we are in for another bout of great resignations due to companies calling it's employees back now and employees finding ways to continue WFH. The ones who get lucky continue WFH while not so lucky ones will start switching and startups and other mid level companies cashing in on the talent. Looks like it's the lull before the storm.

What “hard skills” do you need as an FA? Feel like it's mostly been PPT work and basic Excel (pivot tables)...what am I missing?

Ex-MBB, recently started a new MM PE role, but had also applied to HBS in case the PE route doesn’t work out. Thankfully, both the PE and HBS applications were successful. Now I need to decide whether to leave my current role after only 6-10 months to go to business school, or try to defer the MBA.

What should I do? I’m torn between wanting to do MBA at an earlier age vs ensuring good PE employability post MBA(either at current firm or other). Not sure how well 6-10 Mos pre-MBA PE exp is valued

4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

I report to the COO and currently make $94k + up to 10% annual bonus based on company hitting their revenue goal + I have 3000 stock options. I have 3 YOE in customer success but pivoted to a non technical program manager role at a series c tech startup last September. Anyone have situational depression? Can’t stop beating myself up over a decision a year ago. Basically missed out on a massive amount of money. I know this seems trite and i never even cared thatt much about money before this year.

So many other good things happened to me this year - got married, got a puppy, moved etc, and yet the one thing i keep returning to is this decision as though i ruined my life. Ironically the only thing ruining my life is my outlook and yet i just can’t stop.

Deloitte USI is offering me 15LPA fixed and 1lack joining bonus and HCL offering me 23LPA fixed. I've tried to negotiate with deloitte but they are not ready to negotiate and asking me to join on the same CTC which was initially provided. I'm confused to select the company. I was wondering what kind of contractual or other barriers I might face if I apply for one of the big 4 while working on a project with them in my current company.
I am not too involved in the project but I was in a few meetings and went on a field trip with them as well.
The position that I am applying for is in a different team and city.
Will this considered “poaching” if the consulting firm hires me? Would they need to talk to my current employer?

What would be suggested for long-term growth? Doing growth-related data science at a private equity firm or a role as a monetization pm in a FANG-related company? What are possible growth areas after the job at a PE firm? I'm concerned that a career in PM would plateau.

What does the future look like in consulting? I am a bit nervous jumping from from "industry side" to the "consulting side".
