Hey folks, I am wondering the average time for one to hear back after submitting application? Is 1-2weeks normal? And can I assume a rejection if there is a silence for over 2 weeks from submitting my resume? Thanks!

I would absolutely say 1-2 weeks, but that is on the faster side. These days, it seems like it is taking much longer. If there is a hiring manager or someone you can follow up with, I would suggest following up to ease your nerves.

While most teachers are protected by teacher unions, I feel my voice hasn’t been heard at all with my concerns of going back to school next week. Our diocese has decided on full return 5 days/ week for all 42 schools despite a recent increase in COVID in our communities. Every other school that I know of in my state is either choosing remote learning to start the year or a hybrid approach, yet that was not an option for us. Are other Catholic schools I. The same boat? Stay safe!

I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?
