Recently I encountered a question in an interview for HLD round, even though I created architectural diagram and specifying requirements, the interviewer wasn't satisfied and he rejected me. Hence I am curious to know what could be the possible solution for this.
Here is the question:
"You are running a dining restaurant of 100 tables. You have replaced all the waiters with robots. Design a system keeping only dining in mind."

How long does it take to get a job , when you actively apply every day for weeks. Or better still how do I do it right?

1st yr at a nyc v50 firm doing general transactional work. I know the lateral market for transactional lawyers is hot but not as hot for juniors. I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible? Did a first interview with hr rep, went very well. she set up the hiring manager meeting for a few days later. Met with the manager. Another great conversation, went over time and was told I’d hear back about panel set up. Following day I get a request from hr rep to “continue the conversation” with manager. This is set up Tuesday.
Why do you think the manager wants to meet again? Good? Bad? I felt great about the interview when we ended.

Few days before of my joining date, i came to know that the technology stack from customer got changed and customer had no requirement for which i was hired. Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co.
