Just venting here: I don’t know about other professionals out there but this quarantine has been extremely difficult on me and my mental health. I really tried isolating myself from outside world, only went out to for grocery and necessities once a week. And yet just as things were starting to open up I started showing symptoms. Just saw a post on LinkedIn where the ECD of a mid-sized agency praised a large group of employees showing up to a shoot and acting as extras and principals for free for a client spot. He is super proud that for the team rallying together for work that “wasn’t even that interesting”…This doesn’t read as teamwork to me, it reads as the client exploiting the agency and the agency exploiting it’s workers…it’s a job not a school project? Or am I just overthinking this? Maybe?

Recently started a part-time gig as a Computer Specialist, FT job is in public safety/law enforcement. Working on certs, no degree - Basically I’m looking for recommendations in the Civil Service or government field for IT jobs. My current job has be doing everything from ordering, installing, and imaging computers, to video surveillance installation, to security systems, and managing our networks at local stores. I love my PT job, and want to do it FT. But insurance and pay don’t come close.

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.

Learned on the day of the deadline to enroll, that my partner's employer offers voluntary participation on a deferred compensation plan. First time I hear of such a benefit/option after working for years! Any general (i.e. not plan-specific) lessons-learned, gotchas, pointers to offer as we will have to quickly decide to enroll or not?

My amazing boss is leaving. They have been a champion for me and the best leader I’ve ever had. I am devastated. I’ve usually had ok to not great managers so have never experienced this feeling before. It’s like im going through the stages of grief. Having a great leader has been like oxygen. The difference for my mental health is like night and day. I remember how my life was when I had a not great manager and I just can’t go back to that. Any words of wisdom or advice? I feel lost and alone.
