Hi all,
I am at Big4 UK (London). Recently, I started to suspect myself to have Asperger’s. I haven’t seen a doctor yet and I haven’t been officially diagnosed. I was always understanding that something is not “normal” with me but I didn’t know about Asperger’s. Let’s assume I go to a doctor and officially been diagnosed. What are the pros/cons to disclose it to my employer? Can they fire me because of this? I am on visa in this country. That’s why don’t want to risk it at all. Thanks for help!

I would start with a doctor first to see what the diagnosis is - they will likely have resources to help you understand what accommodations would be available. I know I’m the US that if you disclose it, you’re generally protected unless it fully prevents you from doing the job you’re hired to do with the reasonable accommodations.
Pro would be getting the accommodations that may help you - clarity with requests, changes to the way you meet / interface with management, written directions for tasks, etc but you may also be able to just ask for those things from those you work with. Do you feel like you’re struggling in specific ways?
Cons - unsure here, so worth exploring with a doctor / coach. I haven’t disclosed my ADHD because I am able to ask for things I need and haven’t required additional support, so can’t speak from experience.

I posted here some months back about my ectopic pregnancies but today, I'm posting to tell you all to hang in there and God will do it for you. (Please don't insult me of you don't believe in God because I strongly do).
In a nut shell, we had baby #1 without trying. Started trying for #2 and over 2 years, I had 4 miscarriages and 2 ectopics. In July, my doc informed me that the only way forward was through IVF. I was tired and confused. I PRAYED! and continued trying. (The rest in the comments.)

Hi everyone,

I was affected by layoffs about a month ago and urgently looking for a good immigration lawyer. The lawyer should be experienced in handling this 60 day grace period situation and developing alternate strategies - such as change of status to B1/B2 or applying to jobs from India. There is a lot of noise and wrong information going in the market so looking for good recommendations.

I have very little time left for my grace period to end and need a consultation soon. Thanks

first time therapy question:

I’m signing forms now as a first time therapy-goer and it says that my therapist would *have* to make a diagnosis for insurance purposes. Does this mean they have to find something to say I have? Do they tell you and is it something that sticks with you?

I really just want to go to have a third party to talk to and gain more insight on myself. Just wanted to hear any opinions before signing. Thanks in advance 🙏

Product Design Engineer, interviewing at Apple (Cupertino) and at Meta (Seattle/Redmond). Not at the offer stage yet, but I'm contemplating where I would relocate with family.
No idea about team/culture/stability differences yet.

The non-work factors I'm debating are:
1. Cost-of-living (housing!). Could probably afford a nice ~$1.25M SFH in Seattle suburbs sooner than a fair $1.5-2M near Cupertino.
2. Public School quality. Unsure private will be affordable.
3. Weather/region: activities

I have cleared all the rounds with @wipro and it's been more than 2 months i have not received my offer letter. HR is saying that we are still waiting for the approval.

Can anyone please suggest. What I can do here.

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

Remotest you hadn’t been diagnosed but you graduated college - you don’t have ADHD.
Do not try to relate to someone who has ADHD. Symptoms v disorder … you likely just have symptoms here and there. If you had the disorder, you wouldn’t have made it this far without knowing.

However, the meds are great, and good luck getting them!

Just found out I’m getting promoted to manager at a Big 4. Yay! They have no idea how hard it was getting diagnosed with ADHD finally midway through this year and thinking I’d never make it. Jokes on them!

I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 12. My family did not opt to put me on medication. I illegally discovered Adderall in college. Worked incredible. Got diagnosed after college & after having been fired from my first job. Passed the CPA exams on Adderall. Went off of it again. I do everything well at my job except for attention to detail within my excel files & emails. Will taking ADHD medication really fix this? Does anyone else have this issue and was it resolved by taking medication?
