3rd yr here in a mid size firm. I’ve been struggling in the mental health dept. I was on leave for 3 wks and have returned to work in June. However, i still feel like a corpse everyday and have zero motivation to do anything. I have noticed my work product declining and I feel extremely burnt out with no hope for the future. I have been trying to get appointment with a psychiatrist but they are either not working or booked up. I want to get better but don’t know where/who to turn to. Advice?

I know this is not by any means, a cure for depression/lack of focus, etc., but I go to dark places sometimes and hit walls so hard sometimes. I pretty much have 2 speeds. Fast and stop.

I find working out, even if it’s just a walk outside, drinking tons of coffee and green tea (or taking L Theanine supplements) and putting my phone completely away help keep me on track. The phone is the worst distraction ever.

I was on medication way before I had a child. The medication controlled it very well. Post child, it has been really tough. I added wellbutrin and that had helped a bit. But when part of the problem is exhaustion, meds can't fix that.

Do you have teledoc access? My copays are waived through September and it includes psychiatrists (and counselors if you don't have one). You might get in faster with a teledoc dedicated option.

Have you looked into therapists who are doing video appointments right now? It’s not ideal, but maybe you can find someone more easily that way. Hang in there and keep trying to find someone. It gets better with help.

Can you go to your primary care provider and ask for a referral to a psychiatrist to speed up the process maybe ? You are not alone in your depression.

And job security, as there are lots of new about lay offs in the industry from product based organisations mainly, will Telstra be safe to join.

How many days need to come to office, and what are the work timings.

Is work from home option also possible.

Please guide.

Just a heads up: I had an interview with Benet in Jacksonville FL. Totally misleading from description in ziprecruiter (see posting below).
Turns out they want you to push covid tests (free if insured) to anyone and anywhere you can. Basicallyhang out in parking lots. Payment is $20/test. Wasn't anything that they advertised $20-30/hr +commissions/bonus, potential 80k 1st yr).

My fiancée almost lost her life to a medical emergency. The doctor needed me to stay home 2 weeks to supervise her post-operative care once the hospital discharged her. We had nobody near that could help so I got permission to attend class remotely for 2 weeks from the dean and all professors. One professor removed me from a graded argument the week after I’d return. When I asked about this error, he had said “I had planned on your failure to appear” and that he preplanned giving me a 0 grade.

Hello!
I'm on west coast & a possible job opportunity I'm interested in works east coast hours. Company prides themselves on being remote & having talent everywhere. Thoughts on ways to directly ask about their expectations on work hours (i.e. requiring every1 to be logged on at X time vs. flexibility, knowing there may be outliers like meetings, etc.?)
Regardless of me not being a morning person, I would hope there is a shared feeling that those expectations might not be sustainable.

Has any of your employer used PIP as a way to fire you? I'm a female POC just getting started in my entry level role and my company does not have a history of using PIP on their associate, but after I gave their academy training a bad review in the survey, my manager is trying to put my on a PIP while the people who started out at the same time are not on it. I'm 9 weeks in my current SDR position, been doing 100 dials a day and got 2 books 1 occur so far.

Hello Everyone,

I am in search of a Project Manager role. I have about 4 + years experience managing projects and in consulting.

I am about concluding the google certificate in project management, and one unique think I bring into any team is my strategic thinking and ability to solve problems in record time.

I am based in Canada and a remote role will be great.

I anticipate your responses and recommendations thank you very much.

Hi all. I’m looking for houses as primary residence. Some need a lot of work, including taking down walls (potential load bearing) and reconfiguring kitchen. Who would or could I talk to first to get a sense of how much a remodel on a particular home would cost? I want to make sure the possible reconfigurations work for me and are in line with my full/overall budget. Would I go to a designer first? Thank you!

What about legal work is currently causing your mental health struggles?

Mine’s the hours, which is not normally my issue. I billed 230 for June and July and am already at 145 for August. My ability to focus is getting worse by the day, so I’m working longer to bill the same hours and have had to pull a couple all nighters. I burst into tears this morning when a client changed plans and now wants a major project by end of month, on top of my other deadlines next week... I just want to sleep.

When covid first hit, I was delighted to be working from home. My hours even improved. Now, because of some triggering events, I’m dealing with horrible panic attacks on the daily. I’m dissociating and can’t focus long enough to get work done. I JUST hit a year at this firm and am going on a one month stress leave. Worried I might not kick this mental state in that time. Any advice as to what I can do while on leave so I can come back focused and ready to work?
