Am not an expert, I just share my knowledge. You could very well go ahead and invest in Infosys or any company as long as you are aware the company is strong, has the potential to grow. The key thing you have to look is you should know at what price to buy when the trend is upwards (bullish).

No you got it wrong here. Mutual funds have stocks diversification, so if any stocks from one sector underperforms..then there will be some other sector stocks that will balance it. Suppose instead of infosys you go directly for another stock which is fundamentally bad, then it won't be worth investing in it. Don't pick stocks seeing what mutual funds are holding. They have diversified it by picking stocks from various sectors. This balances the fund and decreases the risk.
In general, if you invest in a stock directly and it's fundamentals are good, then you are good to go. Here Infosys is a good stock and will have good future growth. So no worries.
