My $0.02. They are waiting to have greater certainty on the contract being signed before bringing someone on to potentially sit on the bench.
Normal.
leidos is a glorified govcon staffing agency I swear
To be fair, you’ve literally explained government contracting …
Is the fact i haven’t heard any updates normal as well?
During war, tyranny attempts, terrorism breakthrough, major governmental shift? Highly likely! Patient and redirection with implementation frees your mind increasing your availability for creative inspiration! Build something in the mean time! Keep seeking….you’ll find or be found right where you need to be! Relax and whatever you do! Show good attitude good sportsmanship and do not move your tongue to agree with the haters and slanderers against any company because it’s simply dirty data revealing a guessing mind not the intelligence to identify drift! Think as if it were your own company! Best practices! Right? “Analytical Think” from a self taught man so possible my sentiment isn’t shared amongst the holders of PhD’s or maybe it is irrespective of the outcome of that equation these thoughts cancel frustrations, disappointment, and abandonment of which by circumstantial evidence we know this is the best way to keep momentum with freshness of character, and invention implementation! Hear ye, hear ye all professionals of Tech; this is the way…..lol
Depends. Was the recruiter just fishing for names and resumes for furute use or for pending bids? Names and resumes are gathered and submitted by companies for both purposes. You may not hear back from a recruiter at all on the former. bidding on contracts. For the latter, the time between submittal and award can be several weeks or a few months, depending on contract value, performance location, number of bidders, and any delays or protests. Continue to reach out to the recruiter even if you don't hear back - recruiters are usually pretty busy folks - but don't over do it. A weekly "knock on the door" is sufficient. In the meantime, continue to apply with others. Good luck!
Actually, I just found out that a lot of recruiters have a certain quota for getting resumes that contain the right criteria for the job listings they have to fill. My good friend just left a recruiting job because of the quota requirement.
Unfortunately there are unscrupulous ones (sadly there are many) that make you jump through hoops doing things like getting certifications or adding to your resume so it has criteria that matches the position‘s requirements so they can fulfill their quota to their company.
It is terrible to give people hope and make them jump through hoops when either the job was already filled or the contract was canceled, just to meet their job requirements. I am not saying this is your case but just wanted to give you a heads up. However, there are many good recruiters too.
Good luck. I hope you find a job real soon.
