Hi All,
Want to check if VW is paying fairly or getting low balled.
I am being offered for Expert role by VW with CTC 30 LPA including variable. I have 6+ years of exp in Development.

Also appreciate your inputs on below:
1. Is this a good offer in VW or average one.
2. How is the yearly increment.
3. What is job security and Work Life Balance.

Good offer.
VW has always paid 100% of the variable component.
Job security is decent..VW is a fortune50 company and is global leader in automobile industry.

Good Offer
There yearly increments are far below yearly market average. You’ll barely get any difference with regards to yearly increments. Also, bad HR policy, even if you are a top performer that doesn’t guarantee a promotions or decent increment.
Nevertheless, work life balance is good.

like

1. Your total years of experience and the grade offered is crucial to tell if this is a good offer.
2. Job security - good, there are difficulties in VW group overall but that doesn't impact the Indian arm in a negative way.
3. Increments, not good. Expect lower single digit number. Work life balance Good.

How hard is everyone pushing their corporate clients to authorize nonresident assignees whose only 2020 US compensation was the value of their 2019 tax preparation?
My clients are pushing back on it this year, and I can't say I blame them. If I were in their shoes, I'd rather take the risk of not filing than the expense of filing again. From my own point of view, I don't really want to spend my time on such returns, either, even if the revenue and easy return are nice.

I have a friend who was let go a few months into his first job after college (reason: the manager felt like he wasn't grasping the training content to the level that was expected). He's worried about if he should put the experience on his resume anyway, if he does will recruiters ask why he had such a short time at this place, and what will recruiters think if he explains he was let go. What are some things recruiters expect from candidates in this situation to continue considering them?

I recently bought my 1st home in TX. I want to get into real estate and eventually own/rent out multiple homes. Are there any good recommendations/tips on books/articles/websites that others have used to get started?

I've read about HELOC and cash out refinance to get a 2nd home but articles are so scattered that it gets confusing which is better in terms of tax benefits and immediate costs, etc. Anything others have found helpful that summarized how to get started would be great!

We’re trying to avoid having an additional event Saturday night - any idea on if these guests would need to have food arranged for them by us and what that could look like on a cost effective budget.
