Hi all, what was your first job? And did it teach you anything valuable for what you're doing now? Mine was a runner and it made me realize that everyone thinks their piece of the pie is the most important, and you should make them feel that way, whether it is or not.

It didnt teach me nothing. Its such a mistake that in US they value experience vers education. In Europe is the opposite. Whatever I know I learned in school. I didnt learn nothing at work, besides the office politics and how its valued if you're obedient and spineless

My first job was on sales. It did teach me valuable skills. Specially when dealing with people and selling your idea.

I did something completely unrelated to my current job...honestly, I tried a lot of things and I think I came out for the better. Yeah perhaps I didn't 'progress' as fast as others but at least I have 0 regrets

I worked for an educational supplier who imported products I had to have third party tested. I loved it, but returned to food mfg two years later. Now I’m back in SC for food imports.

I’m so tired of US companies hiring remote Canadian employees offering to pay a fraction of the price for the same role.

This is consistent across the majority of the tech companies. While I am looking to exit consulting, don’t want to be paid 50% of what my colleagues would be making across the border.

Reorgs are just a part of the corporate world. If you haven’t been a part of one in your career yet, then you most likely haven’t been in the corporate workforce for very long. If you have been a part of a reorg, however, how do you personally approach it? There are many factors at play, but in general do you try to establish relationships with the individuals you know will be key contributors and/or decision makers going forward? Or do you lay low and let what ever happens be/hope for the best?

Hello,
Can we get promotion after the mid year review in CitiusTech?
Or the promotion for the mid year already done?
I see for many people the designation has changed but for me it's not. I was under the impression that the promotion happens after the mid year discussion or after the year end discussion.
Can someone please tell the details and when we can expect the new revised letter mentioning the new designation.
