I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

I had interviewed for an internship position at EY for technology consultant program for summer 2022 and got a call where they extended an offer. I wanted to know if I can defer the internship offer to fall 2022 or a later start date after summer.
I apologize as I cannot reply to a comment or DM on this platform to anyone, but thanks for your answers in advance.

You seem to have a lot of research experience. If possible, I’d consolidate the project section and research section into one, and flesh out your experience section more. Most IB/PE roles emphasize relevant experience more than anything else
Gotcha, thank you
Unlikely to get PE internship as that’s not really a thing. You need to go to IB first. Not from target school, but shouldn’t be hard to go in at smaller IB, then bigger IB, then to PE if that’s what your goal is. Just work hard and network harder. Go take specific IB training, like 3 statement modeling. They want people with relevant work experience if not coming from target schools.
Thank you! I’ve gone through a Wall Street prep course for modeling. Hoping to get a tangible work experience using that knowledge this coming summer.
While your resume looks fine, the biggest hurdle you need to overcome is timing. Most banks have already filled alot-most of their spots for S.A and FT roles. Without any prior banking exp it will be really hard to land a ft position, especially since your at a non target (and prob don’t have a strong network that can help). Going consulting, mba/ PE ops could be something to explore since looks like you have some decent exp with that.
It seems like I learned about IB a year too late. If I graduate 23 it’ll be a year early. Would graduating 2024 change things?
If you delayed your graduation by a semester or whole year and practiced and got your technicals down (Rosembaum etc), then you could apply SA (you should be quick, a lot of mm and bb’s have opened and close ending mid September) , than it’s possible, but again not having network refer you could still stop you from getting a first round (non target) especially with deal volume as of late. Why is banking such a priority to you now?
