It depends - not common, not uncommon. What feedback do they have for you ? Depends how much experience you have ?
Unfortunately it can be tough to get your foot in the door. I’ve worked at Group M - currently at neither - happy to chat over DM as well.
What are the weakest areas in your profile n what are you doing to bridge the gap? Maybe try to bring that out so as to help reduce the risk in hiring ya?
Thanks, a lot of the entry level job descriptions are the same with excel sometimes sql and reporting and dashboards through pivot tables/charts, tableau and power bi. It’s strange and arbitrary when there’s 2 or 3 callbacks after 20+ applications.
How much do you know about media specifically versus general analytics? To me that stands out a lot
It’s also likely due to the account needing a specific type of person. Don’t take any of it personally. I interview qualified candidates all the time but it comes down to best fit for the role. Job hunting is also a numbers game. Keep applying. Analytics jobs are in hot demand right now on the agency side. Check out PhD, IPG, and PHM
I'd go back and ask for direct feedback, then query that feedback. It's a very very weird job market at the moment, so hard to diagnose independently
In a couple of instances the teams decided to go with programmatic experience, so it’s been a catch 22 of how do you get experience if you’re not working?
I suggest you join this program https://coopcareers.org/. GroupM and other firms hire direct from there.
