Has anyone here experienced sudden job elimination? I was working as an Art Director, had a normal day full of meetings and task assignments—then in a final "touch base," a manager told me my position was eliminated. No warning at all. I’ve been applying for many roles in design and art direction but haven’t heard back yet. Has anyone been through something similar? Any advice?

I was supportive of Lori when this virus first started but her actions since have dwindled my support of her. I don’t expect her to make every decision correct nor do we have to agree with all of them. I believe she should be correct around 75 percent of the time but I believe she is in the 50 percent range. I know everything doesn’t fall on her shoulder but things haven’t been great as of late. Hopefully they figure out something soon.

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)

I was interviewed for a major tech player in the hospitality industry, had 2 interviews which for the first one the recruiter was late, and didn't confirm the interview while I emaild her to make sure I do have an interview. When she attended she said that there was no point of responding my email as we are meeting anyway. Later on I had 2nd interview with the hiring manager. After 45 minutes she said they will let me know...

2 months later and I am still waiting...

I’ve worked for many companies involving creative traditional/digital artwork, but my last job threw my health under the bus, so now my current has very little creative work and work with databases..

I feel like there are so many doors that are open I just lose steam haha.

I left a very toxic work environment that deeply effected my mental and physical health and took a very different job to have a change of pace and do something different. Hey freelance designers! What’s your going rate for a logo design/branding project for a mid-size company these days?

Getting ready to take on a project with a local real estate company branding a new subdivision but I haven’t done one of these in a few years and don’t want to undercut myself on compensation.

Recently at my company there was some concern with salaries due to an accidental email going out with starting salaries for new job postings.. long story short, is it common for different departments to have higher salaries for the same title? For example a senior graphic designer in brand verse product marketing?
