I understand having modeling experiences is crucial, but was thinking if trying to seek out skillsets in Valuation first would be better before trying to pursue this route. Any advice would be great and TIA!

I’m a 9th year in a mostly litigation-based practice group at a one-tier partnership firm. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?

All else equal, is it easier to become direct admit PP rather than promoted to that role from SM or MD? Seems less obstacles. Thoughts?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’ve worked in sales for 12 years (8 years retail sales and management, 4 years inside tech sales and management). I’m feeling the burn and looking for something else in the tech field. I’m making $140k. I have a college degree but no marketing, engineering, or product experience. What other departments/jobs could I jump to and still keep close to my OTE? I work in inside sales and was curious if call quotas are typical? 150 calls a week are what is expected but I have so many other tasks to take care of that I do not hit this quota. We do not do cold calling so it’s not like I have infinite people to call.
