What is the best tool for hiring teachers?
I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.
Any Advice?

Any specific career goals or sectors? (Hospital, amb care, retail, industry, payor). How did you do in your APPEs? Any offers from them or can you leverage a preceptor you impressed to expand your network. Don’t underestimate your classmates - they have local knowledge of openings and know managers/regional leadership that can help get your foot in the door. Ultimately, if you’re looking to get into something specific with limited experience you may need to develop a multi step plan in addition to expanding your network to make yourself be more competitive. Your first role doesn’t need to be the dream job, use it as a springboard for the next one.
If you’re not married or don’t have any children, I’d suggest moving. It can be hard to leave your comfort zone but change can be good, especially if you want employment. I was in Georgia when I graduated and it was oversaturated. After talking to other pharmacists, I ended up getting licensed in Texas. I got a job, moved to Texas and have lived here for over 6 years now. There are certain states that have experienced huge growth and healthcare professionals are in high demand. Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and Tennessee to name a few. I suggest getting Iicensed in one of these states. It doesn’t have to be a permanent move. You could move for a couple of years to get experience and then move back to Florida.
As a first year pharmacist without experience I was able to find a second shift. You might have to work non-ideal hours or float around the first year or so to get experience under your belt.
Where are you located?
Florida
Did you try applying for retail jobs like CVS or Walgreens?
I have but haven't had any luck yet.
Don’t be afraid to move if it’s necessary. I’ve heard of people being hired per diem as a hospital pharmacist and eventually going into full time.
If there were certain preceptors you jived with, talk to them and have them keep an ear out for job opportunities. I got my first job by contacting a preceptor. Now working in a different area of pharmacy. The best way to get a job is by networking.
Reach out to your classmates and see if they know of any positions. Use LinkedIn for job search and to build network. Take on 2 PRN jobs -- they can convert to full-time positions.
Berger hospital Circleville ohio via reciprocal lives.
I also suggest joining local pharmacist orgs and reach out to your school’s career center. They always have resources for alumni. Networking is key to getting jobs nowadays. A lot of jobs are not posted online. This is the hidden job market and the main way to tap in is to network at a local organization
