Hi everyone :)

I strated the year off being trained for my current FSR role. I'm grateful for it but I'm ready to start exploring other positions.

I have a life sciences background so I don't know too much about the industry.

I'd like to be more versed in analyzing market trends and helping clients build portfolios.

Any advice on getting there from my current role?

(P.S. Open to other suggestions as well. I'm also a data scientist)

get your CFP and you’re good

Your background is a real asset in this industry, it automatically opens a market to serve.
I’m not so sure what you are looking for, but you can take advantage of your licenses (taking the CFP that some already mentioned) is a good point to increase your skills, and while you look more into what you want, still building g your financial expertise.
If pursuing Finance, your market in Science, health and readers have/pharma/robotics etc looks good .

By the same talking, exploring more about you, what you really would like to do, as a person and as professional, will guide.

While looking inside you, divide your time looking outside with the area of business posible services you have in finance, so you can navigate into transición more comfortable and with less struggle (minimizing the heaviness of money needed for day by day)

Find a niche that makes fell creative and makes smile .
Don’t be afraid of trying more that one thing at a time, it is worthy

Change the job titles on your resume along with the bullet points to the roles you’re looking for but keep the name of the company and dates accurate.

Make sure you research the roles you’re applying for and watch YouTube videos to be able to gain knowledge and you’ll be able to provide real examples during your interview.

If you want to start building portfolios; the best track would be to obtain a CFP. So enroll in a CFP education course, complete the CFP capstone, and take the test. Stay in your current role to satisfy the experience requirement. Obtain certification as a CIMA or CAIA as well. You need more experience to do what you want to do.

Hello Fishes,

So far I received offers from PwC India, Capgemini and Lexmark for Data Engineering.

More are in pipeline from KPMG GS, TechM, Accenture.

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐

Is it sign of an Imposter Syndrome 🥺

Pls help🙏🏾

Interested in joining the Reserves, but I’m guessing that’s way too much with a consulting career? No ROTC or previous military experience so I’d have to go through OCS/OTS as well.
Or is it better to wait until I exit to industry and pursue my interest in the military then?
Any and all advice appreciated.

I’ve built a reputation I’m proud of @ my company. I’m underpaid for what I do (started as an intern) & recently asked for a market adjustment. Management acknowledged that I’m undervalued & plans to set me up for a promotion. It’d come with more responsibility, which doesn’t align with my goals.

Is it wise for me to remain open to a promotion just for increased pay? Or should I be transparent with management about my goals (& possibly not get the pay I’m asking for)? Or any other tips?

Need help assess an offer from #PwC. Director of M&A IT (DDV - Deliver Deal Value). HR lady said that they will give you that when you start. I would like that now (written format). She told me verbally the percentages but I do not recall them. Anyone from #PwC has that info in a PDF document?

Any documents? Much appreciated.

Career advice that I give to the people I manage- do one more thing everyday that you weren’t going to do or didn’t feel like doing- for your team or for your client. Could be notes, a follow up, a reminder, raising your hand to tackle and drive something-whatever. That little extra effort against something you didn’t “have” to do, every day, overtime will make you invaluable

I am planning on asking for a raise in my base salary and I am unsure what the market price would be for my skills at a staffing agency. I am in the top producer at my company with over 50 producers. I generate an average of $120k in GM per quarter. I am approaching my first year end review and I am currently at a base salary of $70,000 and I have 3 years of prior experience in the industry. What should I be asking for in this situation?
