Hi everyone, I’m a hardwood flooring contractor and do carpentry on the side. I’m capable of going above and beyond with the highest attention to detail possible. I have 3 employees working for me as of now but this job is draining me and because jobs take so long I am not making any income after payroll and job close outs. It’s affecting me and my family. Looking to work for a company so I can bring residual income. Anyone out there have any recommendations?

Does anyone still have the Verizon grandfathered unlimited phone plan? I’ve had it on a family plan w/my mom for years, but wondering if I should give it up since I mainly kept it to stream video while traveling without worrying about being throttled, but I’m not traveling anytime soon. I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?

Approaching 30 now and living with roommates in NYC, but considering moving to my own place. Has anyone found that living with roommates is better than living alone? Conventional wisdom says no.

I’m a pretty outgoing person and i like to have people around. I also like my roommates cause we chill. So I’m really scared of moving in alone and being lonely. Increase in rent will be marginal and totally affordable.

A coworker asked me to do something, I should have questioned it but did it because I trusted their seniority. I got called out for it by our boss on an email. Should I say something? I am planning to apologize to my boss and mention I’ll run it by them next time. But not sure if I should mention I had checked with my coworker who was in charge of that area.
