Hi everyone,
I’m currently a Staff IT Auditor in South FL with 2.5 years of experience in ITGC, ITAC, RPA, CEUC, and SDLC testing.
I recently interviewed for a Senior role and met with the VP, Director, Manager, and Senior Manager.
I accidentally disclosed my current salary to the recruiter when asked (It’s significantly below market) and now I feel like they might be trying to lowball me for this new role. 😔
Is there any way I can turn this around or reposition myself before the offer stage?

They might not lowball. But maybe. Be prepared. I’d say research what the actual average is in your area and go with that. List your background and show them what you’re worth!

agree!

I would probably wait until the offer stage now. While I wouldn’t recommend showing your cards on what you make, that also shouldn’t be taken as what you want for this new role. Be prepared with a range that works for you when the negotiations come.

I’ve had that learning experience too, amongst many others. Some companies will always be on the lower side, regardless of what you tell them before.

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…
