Hii Guys, Could anyone give me some clarity on the below point. I have cleared 2nd round of technical interview at Deloitte, but my candidature is still showing as interview in progress at Deloitte careers page. I had a discussion with HR on this and she told me that next process is pending from management side. It's been almost 10 days since from 2 nd round of interview. How much more time does it gonna take, any idea? Or is it normal. Please help me with this 🙏🙏 .Deloitte

What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.

Bad timing. The FEDs are getting rid of people. Unless, you want to work for Immigration & Borders or have some kind of hard to find specialty. Most agencies, like mine, are just trying to shuffle people around the ones retiring and talking the DRP to save their careers. If you are an outsider your chances are low, if any, unless you have some veteran preference. If you still want to try create a very desirable resume in USAJobs and check vacancies daily.
Yes, alas, I am painfully aware of my bad timing. Thank you for your insight and measured words; I appreciate you.
Depends - Feds are on a hiring freeze until October (at least), with no guarantee that the White House lifts it then, so your best bet would be for state or local government.
If you haven’t checked out GovernmentJobs.com, I’d definitely check that out.
I apologize for the delayed response; my comment section populates sporadically. Thank you for the suggestion; I cannot believe I missed the web page with such an explicit name. I am exploring it as I type this. Thank you again, appreciate it.
Are you only looking for jobs with the federal government, or are you open to state and local government? Right now the federal government hiring process is a mess, so you might be better off looking at your state, city, or county's employment portals. Also, keep in mind that some government agencies have their own employment process separate from the big ones. For example, I used to work for my state's court system and they list their jobs on their own website instead of part of the general state personnel portal.
I am open to all public sector venues. I was thinking the same, state & local government options might be more feasible right now. Thank you so much for replying.
In my experience, there is only one way to get a government job (legally) through the front door. You take the civil service exam, apply to the publicly-listed job openings, and wait. And wait. It is best to already have a job while applying for a government job. There are systems in place to actively discourage networking and cronyism, to have a friend hire you. You need to submit your resume with everyone else. That makes it competitive and hard to stand out. Sometimes they cap the total number of candidates considered, so it takes on elements of a lottery. BUT if you do get an interview, you have a good chance of being hired.
We have a hiring freeze in place, USA Jobs IS the platform for Federal positions so you are looking in the right place! I saw a similar question above but to ask from a different angle, are you looking at all at companies that contract with Federal entities? If positions look sparse at this time contractor work might be another way to expand the job pool.
I must admit, companies that contract with Federal entities never crossed my mind. Besides a simple web browser search, would you recommend a specific network or search prompt to aid my job search? Thank you so much for entertaining this "whimsy."
Most office administration jobs in the federal government are done by contractors. I recommend going to usaspending.gov to research which vendors have gotten big staff support contracts in the last year or two.
Will definitely explore it. Thank you so much for your input.
You’re looking in the right places. Your state or nearby states should have their own job listing website. As you’re probably aware, there is a partial federal hiring freeze in place right now until October, and many agencies are downsizing (with DHS being a notable exception). State and local jobs are therefore probably more prevalent at the moment.
Indeed. Thank you for your input. It is appreciated.
Apply for Department Of Defense(DON, Army, Navy, etc) jobs. That is the only sector not under a federal hiring freeze.
Noted and will do. Thank you.
Governmentjobs.com and your state government employment site, with government jobs. Yes I went from private to public sector after 35 years, a big difference. Government jobs have to be strict on spending, no extras like private sector, if the government organization isn’t stealing from the taxpayer.
Feds just let thousands of people go. Many of us 'former' feds are trying to transition to private sector. Not easy, and the competition is REAL!
