Considering taking a position with a small-cap in the US trying to build their legal department. The title is standard “counsel” although the work would be with the senior leadership team and reporting to the GC in Europe. How reasonable is it to ask for a bump in title - Senior counsel or Head of Legal, US? If it matters, I am a 6th year and have been told that I will be expected to hire a junior or paralegal as we build up.

I interviewed at KPMG on 11/14 and got a verbal offer the next day but since then waiting to hear from them. Been following up continuously but the partners are not replying it seems. In the meanwhile i have an offer from BT offering 90k for 4 yrs of experience which seems to be fair. When I was young I used to love it when government gave freebies. Present day after paying around 5 lakh as income tax it boils my blood when I think that my tax money is used to give free tv, grinder, free bus tickets etc.

I would be much happier if it was atleast used to generate jobs, better infrastructure and utilities.
