Should I move to Dallas, Houston, or Austin?

I answered in the other post, but it also kind of depends on if you want to travel certain places easily (direct flights or quick drive to see family). If you're cool with flying southwest, any of the above are good. But Dallas and Houston will have more airport options in general.

What are you looking for? Work- and life-wise?

Austin is the most fun and outdoorsy, but has the worst corporate work unless you're into VC/startups. It's also the most expensive.

Dallas has the most finance and real estate work imo. And Houston has the most general corporate and M&A. Dallas and Houston are a good bit less expensive than Austin and have professional sports if you're into that. They're also just much bigger cities (the 5th and 4th biggest in the country).

Hi. I’m in need of advice and encouragement. I’m currently working as a public defender(2nd year) but I would love to pursue a solo private practice. I would like to leave the public defender because I am ready to make more money and I am no longer feeling the fulfillment I once felt. I have a family and work-life balance is a priority. What is a good way to gain experience in other areas of law as a solo practitioner? What areas of law are best for maintaining a work-life balance?

I am looking to leave my current position due to not having the opportunity to run campaigns and earn experience.
However, every interview I get asked about the campaigns that I have run.
This is starting to feel like a closed loop. Any ideas are appreciated.

I do create some personal campaigns and do social media content on LinkedIn for my personal profile. That is why I get a high number of interviews but I stumble at the starting line.

My options are 1) wait it out where I am in hopes to switch to L&E or 2) in house oil and gas industry transactional work. What would you do and why? I figured this bowl being specific to Texas would understand importance of oil and gas industry.
