Hi Guys, I started my career in 2012 - so that means 10 YOE. But I took a 2.5 yrs gap in 2019 to prepare for UPSC, failed & returned to corporate in 2022. So actual YOE is 7.5. (Soft Eng > BA > PM). No MBA.

I'm currently a Product Manager in NCR with 40B + 2.5 JB + 15% V. Has this stint placed me at a disadvantage vis a vis my peers in terms of CTC / Position many of whom are AVP / Eng Managers? When negotiating what exp / CTC should I really quote?

But got an offer from another company which I was interviewing for before joining here and they are offering a base of 45lpa. Now I am unsure how I convey this to my manager coz I want to stay here but at the same time I am salivating over this new offer and wish I get similar numbers here. Is it worth raising a discussion? In the HR discussion, we both agreed on 30L CTC (10% Variable) and 1L joining bonus. But later after 2-3 days when they need to release the offer, HR is saying they got the approval for 28L CTC(10% variable) and 2L joining bonus.
