Any chance your current company would be able to sponsor your work visa? That would be the first step, I would imagine.
Well the company I work for are a UK company outsourcing for an American provider. Should I just go directly to them? I don’t think it would be approved if I’m honest.
Afterwards contact a pen pal, friend or family member and ask about rent to set yourself up with a location or simply check Zillow.com to get an idea of determined areas near work. Call and ask of what the majority of demographics would be within that particular area from your employers;whom would be no further than 5-7 miles away from the chosen location.
FYI rent a room it would be your cheapest option. Best of luck.
You need a sponsor. You also might want to really look at the reality of living in the US. Coming from the UK what do you think the US will provide that is better?
Funnily enough I have a friend in the US and that was the first question he asked me. I’m open minded and just want to explore all my options ya know.
Do you know how I get a sponsor? Through a job?
Do think about the huge difference in employment laws and social factors in the US.
Employees often have only a week or two of PTO, health care is extremely expensive and they have very few sick days which means that a lot of Americans continue to come into the office when feeling unwell.
It can be a massive adventure, but when the job is a very promising one and the US is your all-time dream country, but I would really contemplate the relative luxury of working in Europe before you make a decision.
