Had a bad showing for case interview about a month ago. I knew the material i just straight up had a bad day. Took feedback in exit interview and feel prepared to reapply for a different role with no cool off time… should I still wait or shoot my shot?
Asking as I am curious if my app will be flagged as I just applied to another role recently.EY-Parthenon
Hi all, Recently i interviewed at Adobe for the post of computer scientist, Noida location. Had 5 technical rounds, but after that i didnt get any further response. One of HR called me and asked me to wait for a day or 2 last week, she gave me the reason that there are some issues going on in company. It's been 2 weeks now and i haven't got any response from them, i have been following up on mail and call, but there is no response either. What could be the reason ?? Any adobe folk out there ??

As of yesterday, even though I applied in May, and that while they liked my application, they will not be considering me till early 2023.
This is the second time they pushed back their consideration... 😞

I went through the same virtual recruiting process over the last month and it resulted in an offer. My suggestions:
1 - practice and record your PEI stories on zoom with a friend or colleague. Critique your performance and make necessary revisions.
2 - emote more than you would face to face. Even when I realllly hammed it up, my practice partner did not find me artificial, but engaged. It’s real weird, I know. But subtlety does not transfer well over video chat. This matters. I felt like an on stage actor during my interviews, but I got an offer, so clearly they didn’t find me overly artificial.
3 - prepare some general ideas/areas of discussion before your cases begin, based on linked in research. Believe it or not I was able to successfully highlight a skill or experience in a seamless manner in chit chat before the case/PEI by doing my research on each interviewer. Hint: COVID/quarantine will come up. If you mention something in the interviewer’s wheelhouse, they’ll ask a follow up. Be prepared to make that happen, as well as a response that reveals something intriguing about you. Worked for me every single time....
4 - relax. It’s a weird format, don’t let it change who you are and what you bring to the table. You’re probably awesome already, and if you can’t show that by being yourself and come off as robotic, you’ll be doing yourself a disservice.
Good luck and let us know how it goes!
M1: for example, let’s say your resume is all about humanities and marketing but shows no real technical know how. Your interviewer is the head of a technical practice and has a background in hard core programming. You want to show that you’re comfortable with coding and have been working at home on a project (let’s say you made a simple robot with an Arduino, or wrote a script to ping you whenever a new COVID case is registered in your small city). When asked “how have you been holding up with this pandemic” you say “Actually I’ve been able to use some of this extra time at home to work on a fun little side project doing X.” Then, because said interviewer has a natural interest asks a few follow ups, which you answer easily. In less than a minute, you’ve shared something intriguing and potentially applicable on the job about you that would have otherwise remained unsurfaced.

- Have a clean background (no distracting stuff on background/wall)
- Practice looking at the camera (instead of monitor) as you speak to feel more engaging
- Speak loud and clear
I'd try a rehearsal session with a friend (using the same plaform, Zoom in McKinsey's case) and record it, so I can review to see how I look/sound and improve accordingly.
What position are you interviewing for if I may ask?
Bump bump 😉
