Look it seems to me that you are on the right track because you’re making a difference and as long as the managers above you see that I say keep doing what you’re doing. The one that is jealous of you will eventually get over it and if anything continues to get out of hand, I would just ask for a meeting with them and upper management to get things squared away
Don’t love my personality. They are claiming that I’m more of a boss than a leader, and have been going to my manager and telling them all kinds of things that they don’t like about me. One of them confronted me and said she feels like I have to “dip my hand into everything” and “don’t trust them” and need to “give them space”, but I don’t feel as if I have been doing anything unreasonable. I feel like if our metrics are all improving and employees are all behaving better overall, then things are going pretty well. But I am happy to try and “back off” and see how things go. But the other issue, is one of the ACSMs is very jealous that I received the promotion and not her. I am only 21 and she is in her late 50s, as well as the other ACSM, and I don’t think she loves that I have the position and not her. I feel that she is trying to sabotage me and say things behind my back to make me look bad. This led to my manager coming to me and telling me about the “feedback” she’s been given about me, but I got emotional when she was talking to me. She also asked me if I had OCD because I like to be in control of some things, and I feel that was uncalled for. I’m not sure what changes they truly want me to make if I am doing the job well.
I am very frustrated because these 2 ACSMs have been the only ones to bring any issues to my attention, but when they go to management they are framing it as if numerous people are having problems. And they keep telling me to be more personable, which I feel I have been doing. They are hyper focused on the relationships I make with every single employee, but I feel like if the job is getting done well, and morale (apart from these 2 people) is generally good, I don’t really know what I should be doing
Thank you guys for the input. Today I thought we could start fresh but instead I have literally been given the silent treatment all day. It’s so petty and childish and I don’t want to play into the drama, I just don’t know how to navigate this.
