Hi, I'm looking into moving into Canada from US. Unfortunately I didn't get selected for my last H1-B this year and my employer will not help with move to Canada. I have a Bachelor from US in Comp Sci and ~3 years of work experience in the US.

I looked into the EE program but given I don't have a job offer from a CA company with LMIA, I'm slightly below the last CRS cut off. What are some visa programs I can look into? I'm completely new to this process so any recommendation would be helpful.

After the final interview, HR reached out and said they would like to extend an offer. HR gave a ball park of 135k - 145k base with about 15k in sign-on equity and 20k annual bonus.

After a couple of days, HR person came back with with 125k base and 20k annual bonus. No sign-on equity anymore. What should I do given that these numbers seem way lower than the initial range provided? HR claimed it’s because of “market conditions”.

I've been a government attorney for nearly three years now and have worked in the same office/division since I passed the bar. I've yet to receive a promotion other than two cost of living increases (in sum, a pay increase of 6k over 3 years). I know this is meager, but I'm mostly ok with it, I just want to see some recognition. On the other hand, it's hard for me to imagine negotiating because (given my inexperience), I don't feel I'd be able to do better anywhere else. Any advice?

I know that people say it’s all about story, but with a certain gpa/gmat score is there a “floor” that you’re safe on?
