I'm posting this on behalf of a friend.

He joined Photon Interactive around three weeks ago but now needs to resign due to personal reasons.

We have a few questions:

1.Is the three-month notice period or any compensation/penalty mandatory if he resigns during probation, especially since he hasn't been allocated to any project yet?

2.Since no salary has been credited yet, will there still be an EPF entry? If he resigns now, could it cause any issues in the future?

Taking into consideration our marketing objectives, budget, etc. What are some good tips for pricing these out? Physical assets like billboards and programs are $$ but social media assets shouldn’t be *that* expensive.

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

Received an offer for an internal promotion and the verbal offer differed from the written offer. Specifically, the bonus verbalized was 2% higher than the offer letter. HR basically just said ‘sorry, our mistake the letter is right’. What would you do?

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers?
