How to negotiate a raise for a promotion? I've been offered a job in a different group at the same company that would be a promotion and a 10% raise on my current salary. I just received a 3% annual raise 1 month ago and the 10% is on top of that. My new salary would be $106k. Market value would be closer to $110-120k based on what I've been told by recruiters for similar roles. Any advice for how to negotiate to get the offer closer to market value?

I’ve been with my company for 5 years and have never asked for a raise, I’ve accepted annual review we get without question. I got an offer in public accounting (advisory) making 31% more plus a bonus but I like the WLB my current job offers. However, i haven’t gotten a raise in 2 years (due to going to 2 new positions & being told I can’t negotiate more, basically take it or leave it). How do I ask for a raise at my current role (which is a large NFP) by leveraging my current offer? Should I? Family/ friends are saying I should. I have my CPA and started here 6 months ago.

I’m coming up on my manager promotion in the next couple months, but have gotten an IA Manager offer with great pay bump/yearly bonus/RSUs at a decent size public company. Role scope will be both SOX & Operations, will this be a good path to Controller/CFO? I don’t want to get stuck in IA forever, but I would think the level of operational experience would be good and pivoting out wouldn’t be too hard after a year or two. Thoughts?

Yet every time I look at PM job postings at big tech companies, they almost always require 7+ years of experience, 5 at the least.
