Honest opinion about Ogletree Los Angels and OC. Which is a better workplace?

No basis to compare, but I like the LA office and do know some people who live in OC work out of LA because they like the work out of the LA office.

Shareholders at the mainland LA office are great. Very solid mentorship and career advancement structure with shareholders willing to do more handholding than others. The Torrance folks are a bit more senior and just has less people in general so it might feel tighter. Both offices have great people. Never came across an OC atty.

But, you'll be working with whoever and the So Cal offices are practically empty all the time so there's not much value in working with someone from your office cause you'd be zooming just the same (OD uses Teams). So I don't think it matters that much. Imo go with Torrance or Costa Mesa cause it's less traffic when you actually want to go to the office.

I’ve been a licensed general lines (2-20) insurance agent for year and a half and have sold around 2M in premium, of which most of it is personal lines (homeowners, DP), and some commercial lines business. Even though I’m licensed to write my own business, the sole producer in the company is my boss. I currently make 35k + 15k in commissions (approximately). Is this a normal salary? Or how much should I be making? Appreciate your help

Few tips to improve your visual design skills

- Learn Typography: Typography is essential because 60-70% of user interfaces are about written content displayed in a meaningful way.

- Learn Layout and Composition: You don’t need to be pixel perfect, but if you place labels 10px above inputs, you must do that consistently across your whole design.

- Learn Color: Color doesn't need to be complex. Understand how colors interact with each other and learn how color can set moods.

I’m working at an insurance defense firm, trying to target my practice to L&E. I’m overworked and underpaid, but gaining valuable experience I hope to pivot toward an eventual in-house counsel position. I recently was offered an opportunity to lateral to a national firm for a significant pay increase (150% salary increase, much better benefits, hybrid WFH options). Problem-I would be shifting gears to Toxic Tort. I’m torn between my passion and the money. I’m a second year associate. WWYD?

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?
