I didn't apply for a job that would have set me up for the future in the government. I wouldn't have to worry about money or future jobs. My boss had just given me a small pay rise and talked up the future and so I felt good. I now severely regret not applying for the job and cannot stop thinking about it to the point of insomnia and depression. I even contacted the employer but too late. It's a small town and rarely anything comes up. I hate myself and feel like I failed my family. :(

My LinkedIn feed was absolutely filled with layoffs today. What happened? A month or two ago it was a candidate’s market and the offers were great but now everything has shifted. I was informed that I am not getting a promotion that I was gunning for, and when I pushed back about being fairly compensated for my work the response about it not being a good time to ask was really ominous. Went to a funeral today, wife’s oldest friend 42 non smoker, non drinker, did yoga and was a vegetarian and probably the nicest person I have met… went back to the house husband wanted a drink opened a top shelf bottle cause why not? Do you share details about raises/bonuses/other financial gains with friends or do you keep it to yourself? I have a few friends who will tell me everything from how much money they make to how much their husband spent on them for their bdays to how much their parents make?? Preparing for my final round case interview and I’ve realized that whereas prior to the first round I was pretty comfortable with casing, now I’m less and less so since I’m increasingly anxious that I could not come up with the right buckets. I’m also doing more untraditional cases at times which makes me feel like I’m not performing that well. Has anyone experienced similar things? How did you cope with it/What’s your advice? Many thanks in advance since I’m now a ball of stress 😩😩
