I’m having the hardest time finding a new job. I have 12 years of HR experience, a masters in HR, SHRM certification, and all I keep getting are rejection emails. I’ve never experienced this difficult of a time searching for new opportunities. Is this normal once you hit a certain level in your career or is it just me?

I bagged an offer letter from Global Logic, for Automation Testing, but after connecting with team got to know they are using out dated tools for testing but while interviewing they asked about the latest tools which there in the market.

A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?

HR pros - I have a question for you. I got disappointing news that I didn’t get either of the roles I applied for. I was shocked because the interviews went really well and my experience was in line, if not on the higher end of requirements. I was told that it was my salary and job title expectation. I’d be ok with that if they hadn’t flown my ass out there to meet with everyone. They knew my salary and position expectations before inviting me to the interview. Should I buy it?

I have asked for a counter offer from cognizant, but the HR is postponing the discussion everyday, I have only 1 week left. Is there any hope or should I join another company?

A Deloitte recruiter told me that I will be getting 9.1 LPA + 10% variable + 80K joining bonus from Deloitte USI. Considering the fact that I am working in IBM India with a technically sound team and that I got promoted a few weeks back only, will it be a good decision to join Deloitte and leave IBM?

9.1 LPA is basically a 30% hike over my existing CTC and I am not sure if Deloitte actually gives a joining bonus and variable component.

Question to all those people who have switched at least once.
How do you do the background verification of company/team/management to find out about work culture, technology and responsibilities?
How does one finds out if there is learning in this role, there is no micromanagement etc etc.?

My experience is 2 years and current package is 4.35 lpa. I have received 2 offers:
Amdocs : 7 lpa fixed
TCS : 7.5 lpa fixed
I want to try for counter offer. Any ideas on how should I approach for counter.

Ps. I'm sure that TCS would not be paying more than that. Because after negotiating alot they agreed for 7.5 lpa.
