Internships are more important than ever, from what I've heard. Having some real-world experience and training is worth its weight in gold. I have a feeling that new attorneys without any experience are far behind their peers these days.
Real world experience as in like litigation assistant experience and paralegal experience? Or do you still need to do internships? I’ve been doing it for 5 years so I want to know if it’s worth anything
I wonder how much of this is a symptom of the general job market. There are a lot of experienced people looking for work, and in that atmosphere anyone hiring can specify that they only want experienced people. It has to constitute an additional challenge for new grads.

Should have had internships in law school or a clerkship. I had internships relevant to my field and also clerked in my state’s Tax Court for a year which made me marketable to the firm I started at.

You’re very junior for in house roles. I would recommend that. I practiced for 4 years at firms doing relevant work before going in house.
