So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
The layoffs must have pissed some people off.

Take a little time off. Go travel. I feel like it's easy to say that where I'm sitting but sometimes you just need a little push.
Start reaching out to people on Linkedin. Get a job first and then go for travel.
What level are you? Are you FS/ Cap Markets? Is it just b/c things are slow?
Just take a deep breath. Apply to a few places, then maybe take a few days off. It will be ok in the end.

Just this last week. I've found a couple of positions in interested in but I think it's the overall anxiety of the situation and only having. 1.5 yoe. I've thought about taking a vacation for a few days but I'm scared of going somewhere while not having a job/being in the middle of applying to jobs
Associate, healthcare. Based out of Atl so there are some opportunities that I really really like but I feel like if i don't get those then I'll just be stuck with something I'm not happy with

How long did it take y'all to find a new job? I don't know what's the normal down time period that's acceptable
I think 3-4 months is the average, but it depends on the industry and season. On the east coast, firms do hire in June and July but August is completely dead. Then things pick up in September.
3-4 months? 😰

It took me ~2 months. Started March 1st, offer by May 5th, laid off May 27th, will join new job late June.
