I was talking to a friend about their expected severance from client side. She said “500” and chatter moved on. I was shocked, as I would have expected something along the lines of a week’s pay for year of service. Then I realized that “500” meant “500k” and I started questioning every life decision I’ve ever made.
Technically nothing unless it’s in your contract.
Or are you asking what’s typical to negotiate into a contract? Anywhere from 2-6 months. A really good package would be 3 months severance, and 3 months bridge pay (additional checks for 3 months until you find a job)
Whatever it is assume it’s getting worse.
I think the standard is 2 weeks pay for every year. But I once got 2 months from a place I was at barely 2 years.
IPG policy is minimum 2 weeks and then once you've been there 2 years an additional week per year.
Where I work it’s 1 week/year you’ve been with the company.
As a CD just go in a and ask for 3 months severance. I’ve been working here in the States for 12+ years at CD level and above. It’s always part of my contract
Whaaatttt? I guess I'm clueless. This is outside of my realm of understanding.
2 months is pretty standard client side if you’re under a couple years
