This method works. The manger has anxiety. If you lean in a bit and play along, trust is built and they will relax and eventually back off. Buuut if it persists, try to talk to them about it.

Force them to put everything in writing so the gaslighting and micromanagement are documented. Always good to have documented proof.

Just reassure them that you know what you are doing, you know the deadline, and you can share sometime before that deadline. If that doesn’t work, start coughing, put on a mask and say “OH GOD!”
