I have a question, fellow bowlaz! I work in a small advertising agency in Oslo, Norway, and we struggle to get in contact with international ad media such as Adweek (Ad Freak) and Ad Age whenever we want to show off our creative work. Does anyone of you have a way in, or tips on how we can get in contact with media outlets like these? Cheers

I went from consumer-pharma-consumer. The year I was in pharma was the darkest creative year of my life.
Mentor
I started in consumer, then got frustrated with a bad agency and moved to pharma, and then back to consumer. My book and resume was mostly consumer, so it wasn’t a tough sell. But I knew if I stayed in pharma, it’d be tough to maintain a portfolio that would be competitive with consumer creatives.
I’m a “consumer” who went “healthcare/pharma” and now toggle back-and-forth as a freelancer. Getting up to speed on Pharma is way more difficult a transition.
I took my first full time job in pharma but my book was all consumer so it wasn’t so hard to transition out quickly. After moving out of pharma and continuing to build my consumer book, it took a few years for recruiters to reach out to me about non-pharma writing roles.
I was in pharma for 5 years and last year made the switch to consumer. I had your title when I left pharma and had to take a demotion and a very minor pay cut (not as much as I thought I would have to take). Getting out was tough. But I was lucky enough to work on the high-profile and pro bono projects at my pharma agency. I filled my book with those kinds of projects and I suspect that’s the only reason consumer recruiters would even look my way. Feel free to DM me if you have more questions about it.
