I put small stuff away. Covered all shelves, floor drums, Orff instruments with sheets to deter dust accumulation.

For those of you who are early risers, what are some of your tricks for getting out of bed early? I hate feeling rushed in the morning because I feel like it transfers over to my classroom.

Is there anyone that is teaching from home and your students have returned to school? How did you get permission to do that and how does that work with kids in the classroom? I am guessing there has to be an adult in the room while the students are in there but is there another teacher during their planning or do you have to get a sub? Our reentry has been delayed and I am working with HR to try and stay home while students aren’t there but it looks like I’m going to have to take some Parental Leave once students do return because there is not a plan otherwise.

I need to talk with a teacher about inappropriate behavior some parents are complaining that she has in the classroom. How do I approach this without accusing her or making her feel ambushed?

What type of robotic equipment do you use in your classroom?

Organization is critical for classroom management. Try assembling units into Google Slides with links to ppts, activities, etc. Color code them according to the rainbow: Unit 1 red, Unit 2 orange etc. It takes a minute at first but the payoff is a one click upload for next year! PS I use the same color code system with felt tip pens to grade my classes: 1st hr red, 2nd hr orange etc.

What are some VERY SIMPLE yet engaging activities (that don’t involve paper and pencil) that you use on the first days of general music? I teach 4th and 5th grade.
