How are you supposed to find the time to deeply understand the market and customer needs so you can position the product effectively when everyone cares much more about the team meeting deadlines? It's like effectiveness doesn't matter anymore, all that matters is going by the book, even if the book makes no sense. In the end, the product doesn't do well, and you feel like a failure even though it's not your fault. Does anyone else feel this way? How do you deal with this?

I'm two thirds through the PMA Core Certification, and the info is great but the tests are a joke. They need to contract with an educator that specializes in testing and assessment to come in and develop exams that actually measure if you know the material. The bad test design devalues the certification. Not to zero, but I definitely will not be proud to have earned it. It just means I had $1300 and sat through 15 hours of video lectures.
