How do I handle criticism without spiraling? Even constructive feedback can send my RSD (rejection-sensitive dysphoria) into overdrive. I end up feeling worthless and unable to focus.

Any time I receive criticism that I have a strong reaction to, I’ll take a 5-10 minute break to process. What helps is going outside for that time.

Before I review my formal feedback, I plan to take my lunch after so I can go for a short walk and process my thoughts over it.

Then I put it to the back of my mind and wait until the end of the day to further analyze the criticism (how can I best address it in my upcoming actions).

Going outside gives me a different place to process everything than being inside at the place I received the criticism.

Getting some perspective is helpful. Watch a YouTube video of poor people struggling to exist in Africa. Don’t sweat the small stuff. And cherish that you aren’t perfect. ADHD is a superpower but has its faults.

I was over 50 when I pieced together how so many of the mini mental traumas I had in my life were attributed to RSD. It still happens to me now and then. If valid, try to see criticism for what it is, a learning opportunity. Or I ignore the critics entirely now.

My work gives us points/money for achieving certain activities such as exercising for 180 mins per week. I have my Apple Watch automatically sync with the app that tracks our activities and it works great. Problem is I started using NRC (Nike run Club) app for runs and it interferes with the Workout app on my Apple Watch and it doesn’t get tracked. Has anyone found a way for the NRC and Workout app to run simultaneously (pun intended)?

I have 5 years of experience as a .NET Full stack developer. I am holding offer of 21 LPA and I had HR discussion with Mastercard.

HR is not ready to share the exact budget they have (weird!! because HR usually give the idea of how much they can offer )

HR is asking me to expect something on top of the current offer I am holding.

The opening is for L8. How much offer I should expect from mastercard??

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

So I KNOW I have ADD maybe ADHD...my parents told me just recently I was diagnosed in third grade but they didn’t want to give me medicine but I struggle a lot with paying attention or remembering...

Hello All - I struggle with time management. I take medication but I have no idea whether a task will take 40 mins or 4 hours. Because of this, I over commit and under deliver. Also, having been on the receiving end of criticism, over time I have developed a perfectionist streak. I won't turn it in if it is good enough. How do you break out of this habit?

Had my 1:1 with my People Lead yesterday to prepare for talent discussions. Said I had a great year - but need to work on being consistent. She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

Here is my dilemma: I was passed up for manager promo last year and rightfully so a lot of my feedback was definitely correlated to me not properly handing my symptoms causing a good bit of inconsistencies in my performance especially if I lacked interest. I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females. The good news is if i do have ADHD, it makes me quite good at my job as I’m very flexible and can provide positive energy to my patients. Anyway, my boss has told me I have ADHD multiple times. It seems rude when she says it, and she follows it up with “I say that because I love you” which i feel is so unprofessional all around. Anyone have guidance on how to handle this?
