How long do you stay on holiday leave for the holiday season?

How long after you start a new job is it appropriate to take a vacation? And for what length of time?

How fair is it for the firms to pay different salaries for the same work in different countries? or lower salaries to employees from the developing nations even though they might be working directly with the client or leading projects?
Cost of living is definitely one factor but how would you counter when a Consultant from Mexico and a Consultant from US want to go on a vacation to UK?

I recently joined a company after being self employed. I’m on hubs’s health insurance. We have no kids. It’s United healthcare. The company offers United as health insurance. One of those super smart but impractical types. As just one example, he recently called me to tell me to call someone who’s on vacation and ask them to send a calendar invite.
