I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? Same as every other company. Zurich pays nearly equivalent while UK is half and rest others follow.
Ps - My golden rule is to always compare post-tax salaries
Depends where in the EU but ballpark is usually the US pays almost 2x what most EU or U.K. firms pay.
…depends on which country in Europe: both gross pay and tax structure vary greatly across countries. Best paying are in order: Switzerland, UK, Nordics, Germany, France, Southern Europe, Eastern Europe. Anyways it’s at least a 20% cut for non partner roles and can go as deep as 50-60%.
Very helpful, thank you
Depends widely on the country. CSD1 is right, except UK pays lower than Germany
From my experience US roles pay about 50-75% more. Plus the we pay less taxes. It’s truly mind blowing the discrepancy.
If you can choose, the US is better financially 100%.
Obviously if your family is in Europe or if you don’t want to live in the US those are considerations but from a compensation standpoint you’re much better off in the US
