Made it to Delta Silver 🤟
Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?

WN is the IATA code for Southwest Airlines that standardizes airline codes in the global distribution services used to make reservations (e.g., Southwest flight 300 is actually WN0300 in reservation systems). I don't remember why they got WN. Some airlines that have been around for eons have obvious codes like AA, DL or UA. Other newer ones had to take what's left, such as B6 for JetBlue or F9 for Frontier. Needing to know the IATA code as a passenger is much more common at international airports abroad though frequent fliers often use them.
SJC is by far my favorite in the Bay Area, but to downtown SF it can obviously be a problem due to the 101 (take the 280 instead of at all possible).
I'd be flying WN on that route. Just like I do between Love and Hobby
Assuming most issues are with the runway and taxiway construction at SFO? Plus now we're into fog season. They have no requirement to compensate based on things out of their control but they'll likely toss a few miles your way for each if you hound them. Try to use OAK or SKC if possible over SFO.
I tried SFO and OAK, both were hit by the delays. SJC the only reliable one so far.
@D1 what is WN?
