How do you guys handle teachers at the Elementary level when you have to cancel guidance classes to coordinate testing, attend PD or take a sick day??

Maybe stirring the pot, but the unvaccinated are very comfortable posting confidentially, despite being around other people’s children who may be too young to vaccinate. I’m just curious, are any of you comfortable and confident enough to let the adults of your students know if you’re not vaccinated?

Might be an unpopular opinion but I’m not terribly thrilled with the new Halo Top ad. I’m all for body acceptance but part of the reason COVID hit the U.S. so hard is because of co-morbidities like obesity. There has to be a line btw “real” bodies and not celebrating a state that causes so many medical issues - Ie overweight without the medical definition of very obese. Do you think brands have gone too far in the other direction?

We had a PD today and were yelled at for taking off. We were told we are expected to be in everyday and we are screwing over our colleagues because when we are out they have to cover during prep. How is it our fault there is a sub shortage? Why should we feel bad for taking our days? Is anyone else dealing with this? What did your VSO do for you? I just got my medical records and am fixing to submit my VA claim after 1.5 years out. Debating if I should just submit it myself or seek a VSO.

I never thought being a mom would be this difficult. I am working full time, have an infant who wakes up every 3-4h and doesn't fall back asleep unless held in arms, am breastfeeding for medical reasons, and feel resentful and beyond tired all the time. I hate the fact that my body is so different to how it was before, that I don't have a sense of self any more, that I can't disconnect and take a break (and this is likely to not change for years to come). Is this normal or unfit to be a mom?

Are there any Partner firms that will not be requiring vaccination for employment? Family has history of genetic heart disease issues and several family members are experiencing adverse health complications following vaccination. Deloitte implemented mandatory vaccination requirement for return to office with no health exemption mention. Not here to debate the merits of the vaccine, solely interested in whether this is expected to be a de-facto Partner firm requirement across the board soon.
