You give 2 weeks notice. No ones feelings will be hurt, everyone leaves eventually.
It'll be fine. Just be thankful and classy about your exit. Don't throw people or the agency under the bus and give them every reason to think of you fondly.
Give 2 weeks notice and transition off the work. Thank your managers for the experience and opportunity. If they make it an issue, side on the high side and continue to say thanks but no thanks. You can complain but don't call anyone out and just tell them that you want to go experience other opportunities. If they continue to make an issue - that's their problem. Keep your head up high.
I’m always surprised at how those early in their career who leave think the world will end when they do. I’ve had more than one person say, “I thought you would be more upset.” I always respond by saying, “Why would I be upset! It sounds like a great opportunity.”
Lots of good advice above. If you do work for someone who’s crazy and will try and guilt you to stay. Give them a date and send email confirming the date and do not let them guilt you. I’ve heard some crazy stories.
Exactly. Also, you wanted to pursue a different challenge, blah blah blah. Same spiel everyone else uses. I wouldn’t mention money directly.
Hold on. Are you straight up quitting? Or leaving to go somewhere else? If the later, just go. Everybody does it, people make moves every two years in this business. You need to look out for #1. You’ll stay friends with those that you enjoy. Be honest in your exit interview.
It’s a business transaction. Don’t take It personally
Just give two weeks. It's a business, and it's your business. If they do match and make promises, get that shit in writing! I got burned like this once. They didn't mean to and "tried everything they could." By that time my original offer was long gone. Not cool.
Flip tables. Oh wait...
